It's been a while since I have written an article about my Artistic Explorations. The drive to sell artwork can sometime conflict with the wish for pure enjoyment and soul food!
After a very hectic and emotional week in Holland due to a bereavement, I returned to my art class this week with only two big brushes and some
black and white acrylics paint. Finally we could leave the still life exercise behind us and start the abstraction process which was the reason why I signed up in the first place. After watching a
video about artist Franz Kline, I used my finished still life study as inspiration for the shapes and let my brushes and imagination do the rest of the work. It was utterly liberating!

Below I show you how I created my final piece "Balance of the Forces". It's made in acrylics on grey cardboard, sized 76 x 52 cm.
